DAULAT TUANKU!!!

I am a village boy. Raised by both of my parents and my grandma at village Gelam, not far from the "Pekan" of Pasir Puteh. As a grown up man, I miss my childhood at the village. I was told by my grandma that the our village was named Kampung Gelam because there were only the Gelam trees when it was first opened. Then people came,and the village started to grow. It dates long ago even before the "Merdeka" (Independence). It even exist since the time of the Pasir Puteh holy knight Tok Janggut.

But nowadays everything was vanished. Every house was destroyed. I was told that one day, the villagers received a letter from a man with bulldozer and a pack of gangsters. They said that they were sent by a "Big" man, showing a thick letter, to ask every villagers, about 100 houses, to leave in 3 days because he claimed that "the real owner" wanted to build a modern building there.

Our house was included. They took the village by force, brutally destroyed the houses, and ignoring the old folks and children standing under the rain while looking weakly to their house being wiped off by those gangsters. It was many years ago. And I passed by yesterday to look what happens there. It was a "Padang Jarak Padang Terkukur", abandonned and wasted. I heard from people that our Tengku Mahkota, (the Prince of Kelantan), the future King of Kelantan heard the villager's prayers and ordered that everything was immediately stopped.

Many knows the crisis which is happening inside the Kelantan Royal family. The King, Tuanku Ismail Petra is sick, and normally will pass his position to his elder son, Tengku Mahkota Muhammad Faris Petra. But Tengku Mahkota is not like other prince. He is the TRUE prince. He is the TRUE leader. He is the future King that Rakyat wants. That's why certain people "INSIDE" the palace dislikes him. He was a modest prince who would simply wear the Jubah or Baju Melayu, and sandals, praying with the Rakyat (people) at the mosque and the one who knows what a Sultan must do to his people and state according to the Qur'an and Hadith. We the Rakyat in Kelantan talk, and we know who is the real one, and who is "acting"!


One of history that I heard about him is that, when Kelantan was having an extreme drought, the Menteri Besar (State Minister) Tuan Guru Nik Aziz with Rakyat, were led by Tengku Mahkota during a prayer Istisqa (Asking to God for the rain). After finishing the prayer, it started to rain and the sky heavily poured the water....Soubhanallah hala'zim...

One of the prayer that directly accepted by Allah is the prayer made by a Sultan who is ruling with justice and truth. What would Kelantanese people want more than an Ulama' (Religious Scholar) Minister, and a fair and down-to-earth King? As a pure Kelantanese, I do hope and pray that this Daulah (state) will be blessed by Allah with a Umara' and Ulama' that rule with justice. And the "Panglima"s, we serve our King. DAULAT TUANKU! DAULAT TUANKU! DAULAT TUANKU!!!

Chatting With Cikgu Mufti

Me, Hafiz & Faiz came to visit Cikgu Mufti and Cikgu Peah last time. A long chat with Cikgu Mufti made him took out every of his weapons, not mentioning lot of his drawing on the A4 paper explaining the Malay traditional weapons that we rarely see nowadays. It was a lucky night when a weapon "exposition" became a weapon class. Faiz and Hafiz, bring your Sundang Lipas next time!!! ;)

Cikgu Muhamad: Never Being Shy To Learn

The seminar of Tembi Hentak and Jantung Pisang was done perfectly. The seminar was directed by Cikgu Jazwan Kahar, and was attended by many Gurulatih from all over Selangor, Pahang, etc. What surprise me was the presence of Cikgu Hamzah (The Senior Master of Shah Alam) and Cikgu Mad (The Senior Master of Melacca), who came to learn with a young teacher like Cikgu Jazwan. I took to chance to talk with Cikgu Mad. That Master said, "I learn what I don't have, so I come here to learn". He admitted that certain people badmouthed him because he came to Ipoh to learn certain "lesson" with Cikgu Amin Hamzah. He said that "I didn't learn that "lesson", so why should certain people is not happy with that? In learning the art of Gayong, any politic point of view must be neglected. We want the Ilmu. We are still the "Murid" (disciples) of Dato' Meor, and we are brothers, eventhough a part of us is from PSSGM, Pusaka, Warisan, Pasak or Serantau.

Listening to this "old" Master, his soft but firm words assure me a lot. I admit that I travel a lot way around to find, to know, and hopefully to learn with any Gayong Master that I heard to be the authentic one. But somehow, certain people, cannot accept this for the reason that I betray my Master. MasyaAllah, Wanau'zubillahi min zalik. Never in my mind to do such thing. Derhakakah aku??? Am I a traitor because I am a disciple of a Master from the other "camp"??? I just take the chance to meet the old Masters, before it is too late to meet the elders who were among the direct students of the late Dato'.

Cikgu Mad is one of the best example of a true Master. One of Hukama' (Wise Scholar) said once, "You are a Master, as long as you consider yourself as a student. But once you think that you become a Master, you are indeed have many things more to be learned"

Cikgu Mad was happy to share with us one of his photo, when he was being worn on his head by Dato' Meor a Tengkolok Bugis (Topi Bugis).

NEW PSSGM HICOM

I was informed that a Sandang ceremony will be held at the new Gayong office at Putri Ampang Plaza. Wearing just a Baju Melayu and Pelikat, after praying at a nearby Surau, I rushed to the Gayong office with Cikgu Jaz and Cikgu Azlan Ghani. The Sandang ceremony was to endorse the new Khalifah Besars for the Wilayah Persekutuan KL and also for the Selangor. Certain Cikgus also were being upgraded their belt according to their level. Just sharing the photos during the Ceremony. The senior Gayong Master like Cikgu Mustapha Kamal, Cikgu Tok Mail, Cikgu Kahar, Cikgu Anuar, Cikgu Adi Wijaya and Cikgu Sazali were present for the endorsement.

USTAZ AZAHARI & PSSGM HULU SELANGOR

The wedding is approaching, and my beloved Cikgi Nyz is searching for me two "Silat" gifts to put in two "Pa" (Dulang) during the ceremony. In Malay culture, the bride will have to give two more gifts than the groom's. If I give her 9 "Pa"s, then she will have to give me 11 "Pa"s. One gift I have booked with Cikgu Nasir. MasyaAllah, the "Tajong" is very beautiful. I'm waiting eagerly the day I come to pick him up. The second gift is a "Sundang Lipas". The searching of Sundang Lipas made me meet Ustaz Azahari, the Gurulatih of PSSGM Hulu Selangor. They welcomed us like brothers, even it was the first time we met. We was treated with the weapon and special object collection of Ustaz Azahari, from the Keris, Sundang, Tajong, to the rare object like Batu ***** or huge Kemuning ***** (I am not sure if Ustaz would like people knows about this. Just go there and see the collection yourself! )

I would like to thank PSSGM Hulu Selangor for the warm welcome, and hope we will meet again in the next time. Salam Persaudaraan... ZATTTTT!!!!!

A CALL TO ALL KELANTANESE GURULATIH

The Khalifah Besar, Cikgu Ibrahim Yasok called all Gurulatihs all around Kelantan for a meeting to discuss about many things. The representatives were from PSSGM of Pasir Puteh, Machang , Tanah Merah , Bachok, Kota Bharu and Gua Musang. It was the second general meeting. The third meeting in the next time will discuss on more delicate issue. Especially the question of leadership and trust.

Our meeting was attended also by our special guest of Gayong Warisan Bachok, Cikgu Muzairi, Cikgu Nasir and Cikgu Zul.

I wish that PSSGM Kelantan will find his best "Captain" to make a united and strong Gayong Family in this state of Serambi Mekah..... Amin Amin Amin! ;)

Siapakah Dia Yang Cabul Mulutnya???

I am exchanging some comments recently with someone named "M105079" in youtube. It starts when he criticized one of Gayong Master, Cikgu Awang Daud in the "Mahaguru" tv program. When I replied, this guy just couldn't accept that what he is claiming is wrong and keep attacking me personally, and then attacking the personality of Cikgu Majid, Cikgu Awang Daud, and the late Mahaguru. He even badmouthed about the Dato's mother, Siti Aluwiyah. At first, I just ignore him, thinking that he might be a kid that playing around in the youtube. But finally I tried to private message him, to meet me if he wants any information about Gayong. I am a university student, and I'm adapted with the "harsh discussion". So my invitation is more likely to debate theorically, religiously or historically, or why not a free sparring since he claimed to "axe" one of Gayong student's head, kicked ass 3 others, while 2 others ran away. But never he gave me the number. But as what I said before, when we want to know someone, Allah shows the way. Even after many message I sent to him to let me know his number so that we could talk, he was "mistakenly" sent an open comment in other youtube channel. He claims to be the "Sang Petapa" of Seni Pencak An Nur.

Jin yg lahir sekali dgn dia... mcm mane boleh berlaku klu x Sharifah Aluyah tu yg ada pemakai? waktu hubungan intim suami isteri dampingan tu beserta, sbb tulah boleh keluar kembar naga. ADMAR claim Gayong (silat sendi harimau) warisan bugis dari daing2... tapi klu ko bace balik salah silahnya... Gayong dia belajar dari Panglima Syed Zainal Al-Attas dari pahang (bukan dari bugis dan sahabat karip dgn moyang aku). ko bace dan siasat dulu betul riwayat ADMAR ni... dan ko akan tau siapa dia yg sebenarnya... belum lg bab dia membelot org melayu...

The accusations are too harsh and bad. How would you feel when someone said something "bad" about your mom? I am sure that this guy will regret what he said. Brother, remember "kerana mulut badan binasa". I urge you to delete your comments and make an apologize statement to Cikgu Awang, Cikgu Majid, the late Mahaguru and his decendants, and to all members and children of Gayong.

What I would like to highlight is that, there are many morons like that here. They are Master in the web, but the reality is that they are just a pussy. Last time I got certain message like above. After dealing few times, I got his telephone number, and surprisingly when I called him, he admit that he doesn't know any martial art. But as Silat is Silaturrahim, we end to be friend eventhough we haven't met yet. There are many things happen in the web, and certain abuse it since he can mask as an anonymous ID to attack certain video. Most of the time, there are just the beginners, sometimes the advances students, but still not matured and need more guidance from his teacher. The most dangerous thing in adhering with certain organisation like Silat is that we become an extreme and fanatic maniacs, that ONLY our group is true, and other than our's is bad. Luckily, as long as I remember, I'd never been taught by my Masters to belittle other's martial arts, their teachers, their demos or their system. But if those morons think that they can say anything bad about my Mahaguru, my Masters, my Silats, my martial arts, my family, my Melayu or my faith, than don't blame me if one day you eat my right hand Pelempang Kelantan instead of eating your dinner. KL is small dude. So small that I could sniff you out.

Overcome the Pain

Silat Seni Gayong is known for it's hard training a la commando. The pain is our routine. The bloods, bruise and swollen is a daily gift! ;) Since I was white belt, last sixteen years ago, we were trained to hit as hard as possible our partner, while at the same time to receive the "hit" from our partner barely. At the beginning, we were trained not only to escape the attack, but also to work on the keeping the breath while being "attacked". This is I think the specialty of Silat Seni Gayong training. It has much similarities with the Kyokushinkai Karate, where the training is done in a hard way. Being a "Lasak" boy (strong, stubborn and endurance) is a must. Most of the students were not meant to be a real Gayong practitioner. As we always know, it is not you who choose Gayong, it's Gayong who is choosing you. We were almost hundred at the beginning, but only eleven left, that passed the red belt grading.

I remembered many things extreme that we tried to achieve the perfection. My partner Sabri was accidentally stabbed by a Keris. He was my first partner, and I admit that it was with him I knew my first "Pain". We received a praise by our Masters for our "unkindness, inconsiderate and unsympathetic severe Pukulan". We trained everyday at the Gelanggang Gong Serapat, for 3 years. After starting the weapons lessons, and becoming the Jurulatih, I thought the pain thing is finished. Especially when we are the Gurulatih, spending most of the time to teach, the ability to hit hard, and to "tolerate" the pain becomes weaker.

But luckily, Silat Seni Gayong has no "Khatam". Meaning that, the late Mahaguru taught so many thing that even a constant learning and training more than 10 years, I still found myself a dummies in front of a newly met Master. Every Master has his own specialty. Many bare hands technics are still there to be mastered. A part from the Kombat, Kunci Maut, Pecahan Kunci and Pukulan, the Pukulan Wanita, derived and selected from the "Jurus" or "Seni" of Silat Seni Gayong. Well brothers and sisters, it's time to get rock n roll! Feel the pain, and you will master the names! ;)
