Bengkel Memanah Tradisional KK5'13

The Prophetic Archery (Memanah Sunnah) is an art of the archery in the way the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) taught. One of the 'sanad' (lineage) of the Sunnah of the archery is from one of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) companion, Hadrat Sa'ad bin Abi Waqas r.a. The western style of archery is a little bit different compared with the Memanah Sunnah.

The method of 'thumb'-ring, as one of the signification of the Syahadah when releasing the arrow as a full Tawakkal to the God the Almighty is one of the philosophy in the Memanah Sunnah. With the level target it is totally depending on the feel which is the Soufist always says "Rasa". The training was divided in 3 parts: Ground Archery, Combat Archery and Horse Riding Archery. Since it was only the introductory workshop, we limited the contents only to the first part. My Gayong brother Cikgu Arifin Bastan and family, Pak Anwar (Principal of KK1), Mr. Nasrul (Principal of KK2), Ustaz Abduh (KK4), Mr. Khairul (KK5), Mme Liyana (KK5), Miss Zainon (KK5), Mr. Aqla (JPPH) were among those who participated.

Alhamdoulillah, our instructor came from KL, Master Azizul, who was Anak Gayong and now concentrating on the Memanah Sunnah under the name of "BOW & ARROW". I would like to thank both of Master Azizul and wife, for coming and sharing your valuable knowledge and skill with all of the student of KK5. Thank you again and insyaAllah the next time, it will be a Horse Riding Archery! ;)

Big flood problem here in Kuantan and Pekan keep me busy with the emergency team for the rescue and aid. One of my friend in France, Cikgu Bilal, student of Cikgu Adiwihaja came to visit me here in Pekan with one of his student. At the same time, one of our Ireland student (our first Silat Seni Gayong Ireland  President) who has graduated now and working also came to see us. Thank you brothers for still remembering me. ;) Alhamdoulillah.

Minggu Penghayatan Islam & Himpunan 1000 Srikandi

Gelanggang Naga Rantau has been invited to the big event of Himpunan 1000 Srikandi (Grand Assembly of 1000 Female-Warriors) this coming Saturday. InsyaAllah, hope we can gather and meet most of the Perguruan Seni Silat in Malaysia. One of my friend from France will come to participate the event with us. 

At the same time, although I am no more a principal in KK5, I still have 2 programs which had been planned under me when I was still in the post. The first is the King Of Fighter 3.0 event in coming April, and the second one is happening now the "Minggu Penghayatan Islam" , previously known as "Alunan Kalamullah" in 2013. This year there will be a competition of Syarahan Agama, Nasyid, Tilawah Al-Quran, Hafazan Al-Quran and also Seni Khat. A competition of Memanah Sunnah (Traditional Islamic Archery) also is included. Finally, a one-day Bengkel Berkuda (Horse Riding Workshop) will be conducted at Pusat Equestrian Tanjung Lumpur, Kuantan. Forum, Talks, Qasidah, Magic show, Prophetic Healing Mathod seminar and many others are also available for all guests. For all ladies, a "Ladies Night" will be exclusively for female students/staff/guest with a lot of activities for women at UMP Pekan Library. 

This event is a collaboration between Kolej Kediaman Pelajar 5 (KK5) with Pusat Islam (PIMPIN) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang.

Alhamdulillah.

I got 5 minutes finally to write something on my blog. Indeed, it was a very busy months. Syukur to Allah. At least I still got something to do. 

My 31st December was my last post as the principal of the residential college (Kolej Kediaman Pelajar 5) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang. I wouldn't have thought what I had experience during performing that post. Thank you for all of the UMP Top Managements who had helped and guide me a lot. Alhamdulillah.

2 years to create something that last is not enough. What we could spend on material development within 2 years? A little bit. But the most important thing that we could create within that time frame is the human-bond-relationship that will last forever. And I found that the Adab, the Adat, the Falsafah, the core values that we hold in Silat indeed a "group of helping friends" that will let us know how and what to react dealing with the nowadays challenges. 

As a human being, as a father, as a son, as a husband, as a Silat practitioner, as a lecturer, as a Moslem, etc , we do face the problems throughout our life. If we put all of the light behind us, no matter how fast we run, we won't be able to grab the shadow in front of us. But the time that we realize that all of the "other things" are just a 'little thing', than everything will be easy for us. If we put the light in front of us, no matter we run, we walk, we jump, we fall, the shadow is always following us. 

In Silat Seni Gayong, in our carrier, in our family, in our life, what are we looking for exactly?

Is it truly we are doing "things" right, or we are just don't know what we are doing or looking for. 

Thank you Allah. Thank you Teachers & Masters. For at least letting me know which path should I go. Eventhough my journey is even not beginning yet, please My God, help me by making me in the right path the moment that You end my life.
