Perbezaan Pendapat

Assalamualaikum wbt,

Hai hati!
Kalau benar kita masih belum cukup ilmu,
Tiada guna berasa diri besar,
Apatah lagi kalau bercakap besar... astaghfirullah.
kerana itu syirik namanya.

Hai hati!

Alahai.... susahnya nak menjaga hati .. kalau tak ditakdir oleh-Nya.

"KLEWANG JAMBUL" : Tanah Serendah Sekebun Bunga

posing with my "Klewang Jambul"

Going back home in Pasir Puteh is not as easy as before. Everything changes when the moment we have family and career. Eventhough Pekan to Pasir Puteh would take only 5 hours-drive, it must be carefully planned since Monday is a working day.

Tanah Serendah Sekebun Bunga is a name for Kelantan in the previous time. The history of Kelantan is much more older than the Malacca itself. The Cermin empire, The Grahi, the Champa, the Langkasuka, the Jembal sultanate until the new era of kelantanese kingdom are much more than what most we read in the history book. Paduka Cik Siti Wan Kembang, known as Adruja Wijayamala Singa was a princess who had killed a Thai emperor King Kamheang, who intended to invade into her country. Adruja was trully a female warrior, who lead a 40 female warrior team named Sri Wijayamala. Expert in the horseback archery, they finally had succeeded in helping the King Sang Tawal (Sultan Muhammad), the princess father in defending the country. Her favorite weapon is the "Klewang Jambul", which she named as "Kilatan", which is believed by certain historian the origin of the name of Kelantan.

There few traditional Kelantanese weapons a part from the weapons that could be found in other parts of Malay archipelago. Klewang Jambul, Golok Jambul, Kapak Binjai, etc. One of my Guru, Allahyarham Pak Ku Hussin of Bukit Tanah was one of the old master who had learned from generation to generation of these traditional Kelantanese weapons. He said once that Klewang Jambul is a sort of immitation of the Zulfakkar sword (of the Saydina Ali kar.) but adapted with the combat nature in the Malay archipelago. It is indeed one of the deadliest weapon that one can depend on in the battle. The Klewang Jambul, as been taught in the Silat 7 Permainan of Pak Ku Hussin, is a light weapon of the hard steel, used to slash, to cut, to block, to lock, to drag, to stab and to hit. Combining this 7 principe, making this favorite weapon of Adruja is the best whether in the open battle or anywhere else.

Paduka Adruja Wijayawala Singa

Being wake up in the morning having the Nasi Berlauk (rice with yellow-cucurma-sauce and fish) and my Ma's Teh Susu make me re-transform back to a Kelantanese. Oh how memories flying in my mind sitting on the old chair in the kitchen. I love to be back home. I love to be back to my hometown. My village. My place. My school. My Masters. But too little time to visit everyone. Hope to get more chance in the future.

Kang Cecep PENCAK SILAT PANGLIPUR: A Master, A Fighter, An Actor and A Brother.

Pencak Silat Panglipur

Kang Cecep Arif Rahman is a well-known Silat Master all over the world. I met him for the first time in 2008 during the Best of The Best Paris Open. Since then, we become friend, and he becomes a big brother who I respect a lot. It is not his popularity, but more on his character and philosophy that amazes me. After few time spent together during his sejour in France, alhamdoulillah, I finally arrived at Kang Cecep's home. Greetings from him and his family in a small town of Garut comforted me after a long journey in the center of Java island. This is Sundanese territory. A smooth-polite spoken people with of course, again, beautiful scenery of nature and,... women. I am not sure whether it is due to the cool air in Garut or it's just that I left my wife too long!lol. Honestly, it's seems that I am in Kelantan. The face of the villagers here are much alike in my hometown in Pasir Puteh. So for a quick conclusion, I would say, Kelantan in Malaysia is like Bandung in Indonesia. But no offense to those who are non-kelantanese! lol

Beautiful scene

Kang Cecep is one of the young Master of Panglipur. After the founder of Panglipur, Abah Aleh passed away, he left his daughter , who was known as Ibu Enny. After Ibu Enny passed away couple of years ago, the Panglipur school is lead by the board of Sesepuh and also a president for the administration. Kang Cecep is the one among few who is responsible for the belt gradings, and one of the Master who promote the Pencak Silat Panglipur to the world whether in the Demonstration platform or in the film. The Raid 2, is one of the film that Kang Cecep plays a role.

Two talkative and passionate tourist guide! ;)

I asked him lots of questions, especially on the subject of Pencak Silat. It becomes clearer to me the concept of the Pencak Silat in the Java island. How Kari goes to Madi, and how Cimande goes to Cikalong. And how the Cikalong goes to Serak. And how Shahbanda came to Java. And at the end, how Panglipur regroup every essence of the Pencak Silat into one Perguruan. Indeed, all the conversation that I had with Kang Cecep confirms my heart. It is all about the unity in diversity. The science and knowledge of God through Pencak Silat is not granted to only one person. If we love the Pencak Silat as the art of God, then how could we resist from not going to learn and learn this precious art.

Kids were all having fun!

Kipas training.

Kang Cecep's students in his Gelanggang

The more we learn with different Guru, the more we understand the art. Learning with different Guru surely doesn't mean that we left our Guru like the Malays expression of "Kacang Lupakan Kulit" (Peanuts forget his own shells). A Guru that wants his students succeed will guide them to seek more knowledge from other Guru. This is one of the highest level of  being the Master, as the feeling of "owning" the lesson, "possessing" the students, "having" a big school and many loyal disciples, are all attributed to the All-Mighty All s.w.t. Many of his advice touches my heart, my spirit and my mind very much. Until my last question, "Until when are you stop looking for a new teacher?". Smiling to me, he said "until my last breath". Being a humble is not just a theory. It is inside the attitude. Not judging people, and not to be too extreme in one's belief or doctrine is the best way a Pesilat can do. But the faith must very firm and sturdy. At the end of Panglipur, the disciple also must arrive at the path of Maarifatullah.

Kang Cecep

Alhamdoulillah. I spent a very nice moment in Kang Cecep's home. It is indeed a great break time before continuing my journey on Java island. Brother Cecep, thank you so much for everything, thank you also to your family, and your students who are all welcoming me although they first thought me as a Pakistanese who are lost in a village. Jazakumullahi khairan jaza', hayyakumullah yg akhi.

This is my favorite. Let us snap a photo together baby! ;)

"DEMAM KERIS" : Khatam Keris PSSGMWPKL - PSSGMUMP 2014

AJK Khatam Keris PSSGMKL with AJK Khatam Keris PSSGMUMP with Cikgu Sani Morni

Khatam Keris is a traditional ceremony practiced in Silat Seni Gayong after the disciples have finished learning the Keris technique. Two major weapons in Silat Seni Gayong , "Keris" and "Lembing (Tombak)" have their unique ceremony, unlike the other weapons or techniques. In the beginning, the students will have to undergo a very long way before arriving to this ceremony. Every student must train the Seni keris (art of Keris) almost everyday, and had to pass a certain level by the "supervisor" before their name can be selected for this "graduation-like" ceremony. One thing is sure, the Keris technique will totally burned out your leg muscles in the first time. But after few training, everyone will get to used to the low position Kuda-Kuda stand and low position Langkah. Accident happens. Even the Keris in some cases "flied" and injured the people outside the Gelanggang.

Alhamdoulillah, after a long-waiting commitment, with a lot of sacrifice from everyone especially Cikgu Sani Morni and Cikgu Rahman, all of "adik-adik" in Gelanggang Naga Rantau UMP had finally had the chance to undergo the Khatam keris ceremony.

Latihan Keris Intensif Siri 3 (Tapisan Peserta Khatam UMP)

Team Gelanggang Naga Rantau UMP : Honored guests, Cikgu Ezhar Abbas and also Cikgu Muhammad came to snap a photo with us also just after the Khatam Ceremony.

When I first came to Universiti Malaysia Pahang, I see how these UMP student are all so committed and it was there how the "Naga Rantau" is born. One of the Naga Rantau philosophy is the word "Rantau" with the meaning of "Travelling to seek the knowledge". After all the plannings, all the effort, alhamdoulillah, Cikgu Sani Morni, the Khalifah Besar PSSGM Selangor, who is also the Pengerusi Majlis Gurulatih PSSGMKL, and Khalifah Sundang and Cindai of the late Dato' Meor Abdul Rahman bin Daeng Uda Hashim had accepted to come to UMP for the first time last year with Cikgu Rahman the YDP PSSGMKL (president) and Cikgu Hafiz BMI. I am grateful that the relationship with Cikgu Sani, Cikgu Rahman and the senior Gurulatih in KL continued until this Khatam Keris is actually happening without any major problems.

The difficult path that we experience since the beginning of planning this big event are priceless. And all of us in UMP had learned a lot of thing from Cikgu Sani, Cikgu Rahman and the PSSGMKL. It is not easy to break up the bad habits and behavior of certain Gayong practitioner especially in managing a big federation like this. As what Cikgu Sani said "Pahat and Penukul" is a good analogy of a Teacher and Student roles in developping the society. Perhaps, those people out there see the success of this Khatam Keris and will say that we understand the art of Keris now. But the truth is that, the more we learn, the more questions to be found the answers. The knowledge gained is not only the Keris, but moreover the softskills, the attitude, the way of thinking, and the "Jatidiri" which is almost lost in every single Malay nowadays.

Kursus Tapisan Keris

Ada yang tercedera sikit.....

2 Questions:
1st) What are they looking at?
2nd) Where is the Keris hold by one of them?
;)

As like the tradition, we are taught only the seventeen technique of Keris, believed to be inherited from Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu. The 5 legendary Malay warrior in the 14th century. The 18th, 19th, adn 20th are only taught a night or a morning before the last "Buah" of 21st will be taught when we started the ceremony. In UMP, we even had the "Kursus Tapisan", 2 weeks before the Majlis Khatam, after having 2 intensive courses of Keris with Cikgu Sani Morni. Cikgu Ezhar Abbas , Khalifah Besar PSSGM Selangor, was the responsible Ketua Gurulatih for the Buah Khatam, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st. Cikgu Ahmad Ismail, aka Mad Jepun @ Singa Putih (White Lion) was the responsible for the traditon ceremony as the Tukang Khatam. Cikgu Nordin, the Kipas Emas Kebangsaan, came all the way from Perlis to be among us in the ceremony. Cikgu Selamat the Pengerusi Lembaga Beradat PSSGM Selangor and Cikgu Muhammad , the Khalifah Besar of PSSGM Melaka were also among the guest that came to share their experience and knowledge during the ceremony.

Cikgu Muhammad, Cikgu Selamat, Cikgu Nordin, Cikgu Rahman and Cikgu Ezhar Abbas during a slot "sharings with the senior Gurulatihs" night of Khatam Keris.

Students from UMP, UIA, UniKL, UITM are among the participants.

The VIP from PSSGM kebangsaan, PSSGM Pahang and PSSGM Johor unfortunately couldn't present during this ceremony for the personal and professional reason. The invited guests of the Board of Waris Amanah also couldn't come for the same reason. However alhmdoulillah, the ceremony was done perfectly from the beginning, when we start to process the roaster, the Pinang, the flowers, the Sirih etc. For UMP, 39 anak Gayong Naga Rantau included me had been participated in this meaningful event. I am sure this is the one memory that we could not forget forever.

Masam Manis: RUMAH

WaAllahua'lam....

Cikgu Steph & Julien @ "Salon du Tourisme Paris 2014" (PHOTOS)

For all full 5 days, Cikgu Stephane and Julien had been invited to the Salon du Tourisme 2014 held at Paris to promote Malaysia as one of the best destination ever to be visited. ;) Cikgu Stephane is a Gurulatih (Bengkung Kuning of 3rd DAN) since 2012 and while Julien is a Jurulatih (Bengkung Merah Kosong) since 2013. Cikgu Stephane is the Instructor at Lille with Cikgu Benjamin, while Julien has just opened a Gelanggang in the south of France, near Toulouse.

They had successfully performed few demonstrations for couple of days there from the bare-hand technique to the weapon-combat technique by applying the art of Silat Seni Gayong. Since we are representing "Silat Seni Gayong-Malaysia", so it's directly promoting the birthplace of this art. Thank you so much to both of you for your sacrifice and indeed it was not a simple task to do so since we are all engaged professionally. I do hope that it will bring more people to be curious to know more about this art and could automatically help to grow the participants of this art in France. Bravo et felicitation me freres! ;)
