 Singapura dilanggar Naga Rantau.... 

bukan dilanggar, tapi dijemput datang! he he he he. ;)

The last Saturday of 1st of Decembre 2012, the Kumpulan Seni Gayong Singapura (KSGS) had invited Naga Rantau to their "Majlis Silaturrahim" event at Jurong West, Singapore. Naga Rantau had sent 34 members for the demo, and our team was led by our own PNC (Assistant Vice Cancelor) of Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dr Yusserie Zainuddin. We departed from UMP Pekan at early in the morning and had arrived the venue late afternoon due to the long Q during entering Singapore and also the custom process.

 The event was a reunion of pencak silat groups in Singapore, and it was an honor for us to be invited and bringing our demo team. It was truely a brotherhood link and all of us had learned a lot of thing during the journey. The Frontier Community Hall was quite easy to be found, eventhough we took more time in finding the parking places than to find the building itself! ;)

 

Our team was warmly welcomed by the organizer once we arrived at the hall. It was at the 4th floor of the building and we got a fresh air since we are at the roof level! ;).

 

 

 Among the VIP guest, the Chief of KSGS Cikgu Ramli, the NYDP1 PSSGM Dato' Ismail Jantan, NYDP 2 PSSGM Cikgu Sazali Meor Rahman, PNC UMP Prof. Dr. Yusserie Zainuddin, and the Grandmasters of different Pencak Silat Group of Singapore, Malacca, Johore, Perak and Pahang (UMP).

 

 Majlis began with Doa...

  I would like express my gratitude for this meaningful event and invitation. This meant a lot for me and my students of Naga Rantau. And to our most sporting and cool PNC JHEPA Prof Yusserie who had willingly came as the Penaung of Gayong UMP Naga Rantau, and also to all of Masters Tok Mail, Cikgu Li, Mak Yam, Cikgu - Cikgu of Singapore, Johore, Malacca, and Perak. I hope and I do believe what we do is one of a big effort of creating a uniting Gayong community and strengthen our brotherhood. I do hope this unlimited brotherhood does still exist in the everyone's heart of Anak Gayong. We here team Naga Rantau will do our best to be anywhere when we are invited by any of Gayong Gelanggang for any event insyaAllah. Because Silat is Silaturrahim....

Blues Peringat Diri...

Pejam celik pejam celik dah di hujung tahun 2012. Sedar tak sedar dah hampir 2 tahun berkidmat di UMP ni. Student pun dah masuk 4 group dah yg ambo ajar subjek fluids mechanics, thermodynamics dan thermofluids engineering lab. dah masuk group kedua jadi supervisor final year projects students dan industrial training kat FKP ni. dah hampir setahun jadi pengetua kolej, dan hampir dua tahun sebagai penasihat silat seni gayong kt ump ni.

yang pasti setiap pensyarah kena sambung study secepat yg mungkin selepas menyelesaikan tugasan2 yg perlu dibuat sepanjang 2-3 tahun pertama di UMP. InsyaAllah masuk tahun baru 2013 akan selesai syarat2nya n get ready utk sambung belajar. insyaAllah, semoga Allah panjangkan rezeki dan luaskannya di serata bumi. ada rezeki di sana, sampailah ambo....

bertahun-tahun di negara orang tak sama dgn negara sendiri. dulu di negara orang masih pelajar. sekarang di negara sendiri dh jadi tenaga kerja, pegawai kerajaan. suasana lain, cabaran lain, stressnya pun lain. dok di negara orang syok, negara sendiri lagi syok. tapi hujan emas negeri orang pon, baik di negeri sendiri walopon berhujan batu.

Silat dah jadi tanggungjawab buat ambo. kalo dulu sebab minat. tapi "sumpahan" ilmu silat ni kalo tak diajar balik, ia akan hilang dari diri. hanya yg mengajar sahaja boleh melekat ilmu tu. yg pasti ambo suka pada ilmu, suko cari guru, suka bersilaturrahim, dan suka berkongsi n mengajar ilmu silat pada adik2, anak2 muda yg mahukan ilmu ini. Tohmahan orang bukan sedikit. Tuduhan orang bukan tak banyak. Hasad dengki orang sudah jadi kebiasaan. Tapi pegang teguh pada pesanan guru ambo, "buat kerja kita Kim.. tak payah tgok org lain".

InsyaAllah seandainya dipanjangkan umur dan dimurahkan rezeki, ada masa setahun sahaja lagi untuk meneruskan perjuangan di UMP sebelum berangkat. Buat anak2 Gayong di UMP ni, masing2 kena jaga betul2 perjuangan. semangat kena menten. Jadi benih yg baik, dibuang ke lautan mana pun akan jadi pulau. nak jadi benih yg baik masing2 dh dibekalkan dgn ilmu. yg tinggal adalah "mengamalkan" ilmu itu. 2013 ialah masa ujian utk para jurulatih dan gurulatih anak2 naga rantau gelanggang UMP. nak tengok setara mana ilmu di dada. akan megah lagi kah bahtera naga rantau, atau sudah karamkah nakhoda dan awak2nya?? atau masih ada yg bangkit pertahankan panji walau tiada lagi bahtera gergasi, walau hanya dalam sampan kecil....




Guru-guru ambo.. ambo rasa sgt bertuah n bersyukur dpt menuntut harta yg berharga dari cikgu2 semua. minta halalkan semua ilmu makan minum. ambo rasa tak terbalas jasa n budi cikgu2 sekalian. tak terbalas dgn wang ringgit. tak terbalas n termampu utk sentiasa menjenguk kerana kekangan masa dan tugas.  pada sahabat2 seperjuangan, terima kasih kerana masih menyokong, memberi semangat dan tolong menolong. semoga silaturrahim kekal hingga ke syurga.. pada murid2, anak2 didik, minta halal terlebih terkurang. termarah ter'sound' terpukul dan lain2. jgn kecik ati. jgn patah ati. jgn hilang semangat. yg tersemat di hati luahkanlah. halal menghalal jua dipohon dari ambo.

Muharram bulan mencari ilmu. Joommm.. ;)

BANGKIT....!

Demo Di Mukim Kuala Pahang

Bersempena dengan Program Gerak Bakti Siswa 1 Malaysia, team Naga Rantau dijemput untuk menghantar wakil untuk bertari sembah dan bertempur keris bagi menyambut YB Menteri Besar Pahang yang turun menyertai merasmikan program bakti ini di Kuala Pahang. Yang tinggal di UMP hanya 3 orang sahaja memandangkan hampir keseluruhan team sudah berada di Singapura di atas jemputan demo. Terima kasih kepada Firdaus, Nabil dan Faiz di atas kesediaan berdemo walaupun terpaksa "ditinggalkan" di UMP oleh delegasi Naga Rantau yg lain2 ke Singapura.

FESTKUM 2012

 Festkum 2012, "Festival Kebudayaan Universiti-Universiti Malaysia" (Cultural Festival of the Public Universities of Malaysia) , was attended by 20 public University all over Malaysia. The festival initially was a cultural performance competition, and every university compete to be the best performer during the event. But the format is changed to be more "social-interaction" with the state host and the local people. Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (Terengganu), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Universiti Utara Malaysia (Kedah), Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Universiti Sains Malaysia (Penang), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Perak), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Selangor), Universiti Putra Malaysia (Selangor), Universiti Malaya (KL), Universiti Teknologi Mara (Selangor), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (KL),Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (Selangor), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (Negeri Sembilan), Universiti Teknikal Melaka, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Johor), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (Johor), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

Our first destination after UiTM Cendering (where our hostel was), was the ADUN Alor Limbat, where we started with a 1000 steps of walking. That was a lot for a father with a small boy and bags! ;) Our performance was the first round in the afternoon.

Every University came with their own cultural performers. It was only UMP who came with the Silat team instead of dancer,singer etc.. After being presented y the MC, we started our demo of the "Tarian Parang Gila", a summary of the technique of Parang with the additional of the other weapons choreographs.

After Alor Limbat, Festkum was then continued at Kedai Payang, at the centre market of the city. We didn't have any demo that day, so we took that chance to train a little bit for tomorrow afternoon and night.

Our last journey was at ADUN Seberang Takir, and it was a very new experience for us as it was raining dogs and cats in the afternoon. However that never hold us from doing our best to present the art of Silat Seni gayong. The floor was flooded and too slippery, but our team had successfully finished their demo without accident.

Our demo continued with the first round during the opening from the YB Seberang Takir. With some little injuries of our Parang team, Alhamdulillah, no serious problem during the demo except that one of the machete that hold by our performer broke and the sharp blade was flying and almost hit a celebrity invited for that event! Luckily everyone was safe. Thank you brother Mat Over and brother Imuda for being cool and funny about that incident! ;)

ADIK-BERADIK SUNDANG...

PSSGM WPKL had organized a ceremony of Belt and certificate awards at the Sport Complex of Kampung Pandan. The ceremony was officialized by Cikgu Anuar Hamid with the presence of Cikgu Sani Morni, Cikgu Ezhar Abbas, Cikgu Aziz Othman, Cikgu Mat, and also Cikgu the president of PSSGM WPKL and one of the senior Cikgu (the ex-secretary of PSSGM). To all of the Sundang brothers and sisters, remember, as Cikgu Sani said. "Bulan ni bulan Muharram.....". So get prepared. Get ready. I do hope that advice is for me! ;) Thank you for inviting me, and insyaAllah we'll meet again very very soon.
